How does Paytient work with my Ambetter Health Plan?
Paytient is here to partner with your current health plan by giving you an easy out-of-pocket payment option that puts you in control. Simply show your insurance card as you normally would, then use your Paytient card when it’s time to pay. Then, you’ll set up your zero-interest, fee-free payment plan right within the Paytient app.
Where can I use Paytient?
Your Paytient plan with Ambetter covers you and your family's medical expenses. Whether you’re seeing a family doctor, an online counselor, orthodontist, or receiving an eye exam, you can use your Paytient card to pay for it. This includes medical, dental, and vision care — as well as mental health care. Your Paytient card can be used to cover your copay or coinsurance at the time of treatment, including any additional fees or costs. You can also use your Paytient card to pay for any bills that you receive after your visit, whether the transaction happens online or over the phone. Paytient cannot be used to pay for insurance premiums, pharmacy, or veterinary expenses at this time.
Can I use Paytient to pay for previous medical bills?
If the bill is still being pursued by the provider, we will allow payment but if it returns a different MID code then we won't allow (general debt collector). We will rely on system controls around MID provider codes.
Do I have to connect a bank account?
In order to have access to your Paytient card, you will be required to securely connect your bank account, debit, credit, or HSA/FSA card within the app! This is the account from which your automatic payments will be withdrawn after you use the Paytient card for a transaction!
Can I use this for my family/dependents?
Absolutely. You can use Paytient for your family as long as they are also insured by your Ambetter Health Plan!
How do I use the virtual Paytient card?
To view your virtual card number, click the purple card in the Paytient app and your card number will appear on your screen. You can add this number to your smartphone's digital wallet or show the card for the doctor or pharmacy to type into their payment system.
When do I get a physical Paytient card?
Your physical card will arrive at the address on file with Ambetter Health within 7-10 business days after you have created your account. In the meantime, your virtual card can be accessed immediately within your account. You also have the ability to add this card to your smartphone's digital wallet for use at medical, dental and vision care facilities that accept digital forms of payment (i.e. Apple Pay, Samsung Pay).
How do I activate my Paytient card?
Once your physical card arrives, you'll text the last four digits of your card from your phone to 573-269-3836 to activate! You can also activate your Paytient card within the app by swiping to the white card on your home screen. Once you see the card, press and hold, and then enter the last four digits of your card.
